About us
Who we are, what this site is for, and how it pays for itself.
Insure Before Driving is an independent title about cover types, claims, premiums. It exists because most writing on this subject is either too shallow to act on or written to sell something, and there is room in between for work that simply explains how things are.
What we cover
The site is organised into 5 sections:
- Cover Types — What each level of cover pays for, and what it quietly does not.
- Claims — What happens after an incident, in the order it happens.
- Premiums — The factors behind a price, and which of them you can actually change.
- Young Drivers — Why the first few years cost what they do, and what genuinely reduces it.
- Vehicle Costs — Depreciation, servicing, tyres and fuel — the bill around the policy.
Motor insurance and vehicle running costs only. Keeping the remit narrow is deliberate; a title that covers everything covers nothing well.
How we work
Our standard is simple: a piece should be accurate, it should be complete enough to act on, and it should be honest about its own limits. An article that leaves out the awkward part is not finished.
Our full editorial policy sets out how pieces are researched, reviewed and corrected.
How this site is funded
Insure Before Driving is supported by advertising placed around the articles. That is the entire commercial relationship: advertisers buy space, not coverage. No piece is written to order, and none is reviewed by an advertiser before publication.
Who publishes it
Insure Before Driving is published by Chawla Content Works, a business owned and run by Sonam Chawla, registered in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It has been publishing since 2020.
The registered address appears on our contact page and in our terms and conditions. The quickest way to reach the editorial desk is the form on the contact page, or editorial@insurebeforedriving.com.
